On September 19th, we were humbled to be featured on KETV’s 10 PM broadcast, shining a light on something that touches far too many lives — suicide. As part of National Suicide Awareness Month, the story highlighted how people and businesses across our community are stepping forward to break the silence, spark conversation, and bring hope to those who are hurting. For us, that means bravely sharing our own story and walking in the upcoming Out of the Darkness Walk here in Omaha.
This month serves as a powerful reminder that suicide is not just a statistic — it is families, friends, neighbors, and loved ones. It is those who may smile on the outside but silently struggle within. Far too often, these battles remain unseen, hidden behind closed doors. That is why awareness matters. That is why we say, with all our hearts: It is okay to not be okay.
By coming together, we help carry the weight for those who feel they cannot carry it alone. We create space for healing. We bring voices to the voiceless and shine light into the darkest of places.
We invite you to stand with us. Whether you join us in walking shoulder to shoulder on the 27th or contribute through a donation, your support is worth more than words can ever express. Every step taken, every dollar given, and every story shared ripples outward — offering hope, comfort, and the reminder that no one has to face their struggles in silence.
Visit our website to join this cause and watch the segment. Together, we can walk out of the darkness and into the light of hope, healing, and connection.
